It all began in the early 1920’s in a little hardware store on the northwest side of Chicago. The hardware store quickly found a niche in heating and plumbing equipment, laying the foundation for Mid-Lakes Distributing, Inc. The founder of Mid-Lakes, an entrepreneur, began filing for patents and we started manufacturing our own parts and equipment, in addition to distributing the equipment of other manufacturers. We quickly became recognized in the industry as a complete supplier for HVAC equipment and parts in the Chicago area. We remained at our northwest side location for over 30 years where we evolved with the industry from wood and coal-fired heating to gas-fired heating and, eventually, central cooling.  Mid-Lakes Distributing was incorporated in 1959 and moved in the early 1960’s to the West Loop of Chicago where we remain today.

From the original hardware store to the present, though no longer in the manufacturing business, Mid-Lakes Distributing strives to supply our customer’s needs with a complete line of HVAC and water heating equipment.  Having been in the heating and cooling industry since 1928, servicing contractors, developers and mechanicals, we are able to call on our over 75 years of industry experience. We are now in our third generation as a family owned and operated HVAC distribution company.  Mid-Lakes Distributing, Inc. is proud of our long history and skilled service staff and we hope to continue to service the HVAC needs of the Chicago area for generations to come.
